Tomorrow Israeli President and war criminal Isaac Herzog is set to arrive in Britain. In the event that he is granted entry, we need as many people as possible at Downing Street to demand that he is arrested as soon as he lands.Peter, will you join us at 6PM tomorrow?
Join the emergency demoBefore that, we need to let the new Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, know how many of us are outraged that Herzog is visiting and demand that she uses her new powers to prevent him from entering Britain – write to her today and demand she takes action!
Write to the Home SecretaryIt is utterly grotesque that the British government is set to welcome Herzog with open arms. Herzog is a war criminal who has said that there ‘are no innocent civilians in Gaza’ and that it is the ‘entire [Palestinian] nation out there that is responsible’. He has promised to ‘fight until we break their backbone’ and has disgustingly written messages on missiles set to be dropped on Gaza.
We must apply as much pressure as possible on the new Home Secretary to ban his visit. In 2014 addressing a PSC national rally for Palestine, Mahmood recommended to the crowd that if their MPs say they support Gaza, “…ask them to evidence it and take some action to show solidarity…because Israel’s actions, its killing of children, its bombing of schools and hospitals must be condemned without equivocation.” Now we need her to follow her own advice and take the appropriate legal action to ban the entry of a head of state involved in perpetuating a genocide.
We must continue to demand an end to the diplomatic, political, economic and military support the British government provides to Israel. Write to the Home Secretary today, and prepare to join us for the emergency demonstration outside Downing Street tomorrow evening, Tuesday, at 6PM to demand that Herzog is arrested as soon as he sets foot in Britain.
