Stop the War Coalition

Two years of genocide and still the UK government lends support to Israel. We must make 11 October the biggest demonstration yet and show the government that there are millions in this country taking a stand to call out their complicity in genocide.

Everyone who can must join us. Everyone who has ever been on one of our marches must march on the 11th and encourage friends and family who haven’t yet marched to come along.

Watch key figures of our movement explaining why they will be on the national march on 11 October – and why everyone who can should join them.

Get organising and help make 11 October the biggest Palestine march ever. Take part in our mass leafleting campaign – in London on 1 October and nationwide on 4 October.

Tomorrow! Saturday 27 September, join the protest at Labour’s annual conference in Liverpool

Labour has ruled ‘out of order’ more than 30 motions about the Middle East preventing Conference from discussing Israel’s war. They may hide from debate but we will ensure they cannot help but see and hear the strength of opposition to their complicity in genocide. Be there on the streets of Liverpool tomorrow.

Saturday – 12 noon – St George’s Plateau, Liverpool, L1 1LQ

Defend the Right to Protest for Palestine

Today all charges against Kneecap’s Mo Chara were dropped by the court in what can only be described as a humiliating defeat for those who try to silence support for Palestine. This deliberate attempt to stop those with a platform from speaking out against the Israeli genocide has failed.

But the police are still using unprecedented conditions to crack down on our protests. It is increasingly difficult to march for Palestine anywhere in central London, including to the Israeli embassy. They have tried to silence us by banning the banging of pots and pans and megaphones, while four leaders of the movement are still facing criminal charges for taking part in a peaceful protest on January 18. We will continue to resist, and demand that all charges are dropped and the ban on Palestine Action is lifted. The tide will turn.

Cracks are appearing in support for Israel. The number of states, human rights groups and UN experts calling out Israel’s genocide increases each week. Netanyahu’s flight to the UN in New York was forced to take a longer, alternate path to avoid flying over some European airspace in case an unplanned landing exposed him to arrest. Once at the UN Netanyahu faced a mass walkout of delegates as he took to the podium. A number of western countries this week Israel’s attack on the Gaza Flotilla.

Workers and students across Italy joined an UEFA, following pressure from players and fans.

Israel is becoming more and more isolated. Keep up the pressure.

Workplace Day of Action for Palestine – Thursday 9 October

On 9 October we are holding the next workplace day of action. Do what you can and encourage your workmates to get involved. Use the day to reach out to friends and colleagues not previously involved in the Palestine movement and mobilise for the 11th.

Don’t forget to let us know your plans and make sure that you take pictures and videos for social media (#Workplaces4Palestine) on the day.

International Conference Against the War – Paris 4-5 October

Across Europe governments have launched a continent-wide rearmament programme and the UK is taking a leading role. This week we organised a press conference in London with French MP Jérôme Legavre, MP Jeremy Corbyn and StW’s president Brian Eno and national officer John Rees about the significance of the international peace conference in Paris on 5 October.

Along with MPs, trade unionists and activists from across the continent, StW will be heading to Paris to help organise against this war offensive. Join us and 4,000 other concerned anti-war activities in Paris on 5 Oct – there are a few tickets remaining.

We need to send a message to all the European governments: the people of Europe demand peace.
