Zionist Forces Intercept Multiple Sumud Flotilla Vessels

Posted: 2nd October 2025

This afternoon, at roughly 2:30 pm EST, the Alma, the lead boat of the Global Sumud Flotilla, along with the Adara and the Sirius, were intercepted by the zionist occupation’s naval forces. They were less than a day away from the shores of Gaza. Communications were jammed prior to the interception, according to Middle East Eye, and feeds on multiple boats have gone dark. The SeulleMetaque and Mango have also been attacked with water cannons on livestream.

Prior to the comms shutdown, video was posted of the ships receiving a radio message from israel telling them to abandon their cause, under threat of violence. Off-site social media accounts for the flotilla and those aboard have begun posting the pre-recorded messages, confirming that they have been abducted by israel.

The attack, which violates international laws protecting humanitarian efforts in active war zones, comes shortly after the flotilla was abandoned by Spanish and Italian naval vessels, and as the threat of conflict between the US and Iran looms. However, the rest of the flotilla’s ships—which comprises 45 ships and nearly 500 humanitarian sailors and crew from almost 50 nations—are continuing undeterred for the final 70 nautical miles to Gaza. In response to their interception, Italian unions called a general strike for Friday.

The flotilla is calling for the world to witness their efforts and the zionist occupation’s violence. There is a 24/7 livestream and tracker available on the official website, and the flotilla posts updates on their instagram and telegram accounts. Members and supporters ask that allies keep eyes on the flotilla, and call on global leaders to condemn the attack and demand that the humanitarian aid reach Gaza without further interference.
