We just had a terrific annual conference on abolition. The videos will be public soon. In the meantime, here’s an article Greta Zarro wrote beforehand, and the text of my remarks that opened the conference. You’ll see below that our annual conference on Africa is happening in about a month. Also below, is a report on a recent terrific direct action in Canada, and a link to resources for the upcoming Armistice / Remembrance Day. Most urgent is the action below to build pressure against a U.S. war on Venezuela.

The U.S. War Department is now sending numerous battleships and submarines, including the world’s largest aircraft carrier, toward Venezuela, where Trump has threatened attacks on land to follow those that have killed over 40 people on 10 boats. The CIA has already been assigned to overthrow the Venezuelan government. We need to raise hell! A U.S. decision to massively bomb Syria in 2013 was reversed in large part by public pressure. Several times a push in Washington to urgently start a war on Iran has been halted, in large part by public pressure. Sign this petition now and share it widely:

Armistice / Remembrance Day

November 11, 2025, is Remembrance /Armistice Day 108 — which is 107 years since World War I was ended in Europe (while it continued for weeks in Africa) at the scheduled moment of 11 o’clock on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 (with an extra 11,000 people dead, wounded, or missing after the decision to end the war had been reached early in the morning — we might add “for no reason,” except that it would imply the rest of the war was for some reason).

What We Can Do on November 11.

Prepare for the Day.
