Call on the BBC to refuse broadcasting Eurovision if genocidal Israel is allowed to participate

Posted: 1st November 2025

This week Israel violated the so-called ceasefire deal yet again, killing more than 100 Palestinians – at least 50 of them children – in just one horrific night. Israel must be treated as the rogue state it is, through the imposition of wide-ranging sanctions, including in sports and other forms of culture like the Eurovision Song Contest.

Will you join us in calling on the BBC to refuse broadcasting Eurovision if genocidal Israel is allowed to participate?

Palestinians have called for broadcasters across Europe to immediately commit to withdrawing from the Eurovision Song Contest if genocidal Israel is allowed to participate. Allowing Israel to perform every year as part of the contest normalises Israel’s genocide and apartheid and gives a greenlight to its complete disregard for international law.

Earlier this year, five European national broadcasters indicated they would withdraw from Eurovision if Israel isn’t banned. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) was forced to consider a vote on Israel’s continued participation.

However, the EBU has since backed down from this commitment. Let’s be clear: Israel’s violations of international law have continued, made all the more horrific in the context of an alleged ceasefire, and all broadcasters must end their complicity in these crimes.

Join us in demanding that the BBC aligns itself with international law and stops allowing Eurovision to platform genocide.

Now is not the time to stop campaigning. We must escalate our actions, and continue to push for full sanctions on Israel, including an immediate two-way arms embargo. For as long as the British government continues arming Israel, as long as our corporations continue to platform and enable Israel’s international impunity, they continue to be complicit.

Solidarity,
