Please write to your MP as a matter of urgency ahead of a crucial upcoming debate on genocide

Please write to your MP as a matter of urgency ahead of a crucial upcoming debate on genocide that is happening in parliament next week. We need as many MPs as possible speaking up for Palestine.

Write to your MP

On Thursday 5th February, parliament will debate Britain’s obligation to assess the risk of genocide in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Our allies in parliament have worked hard to secure this rare debate, giving an opportunity for us to pressure MPs to demand the government recognises the reality of genocide in the Gaza Strip. We need your support calling on MPs to attend this debate, speak out against Israel’s ongoing crimes, and finally bring an end to Britain’s complicity in genocide.

Since the announcement of the so-called ‘ceasefire’ in October, at least 484 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip including 82 children. Among those children are 14-year-old Mohammad and his 13-year-old cousin Suleiman Al Zawaraa, who were shot dead last Saturday morning in northern Gaza while collecting firewood to help their families. The genocide is far from over for Palestinians.

The total death toll is now well over 70,000 people, with many more remaining unaccounted for under buildings that have been razed to the ground. Israel is also still blocking aid from reaching those desperately in need, and this month revoked the licenses of 37 international NGOs – including ActionAid, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the Norwegian Refugee Council – to prevent them operating in Gaza or the West Bank.

Ask your MP to act

MPs must hold the government accountable for its complicity in genocide, including its refusal to even recognise the risk of that genocide. We need your help pressuring MPs to attend next week’s debate and to speak up for Palestine. Please write to your MP today.
