Let’s look at the cleaner, safer and lower cost options

Ontario Power Generating (OPG) wants to build the world’s largest nuclear station in Port Hope on the shore of Lake Ontario.
The federal Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) is currently accepting public comments on OPG’s proposal — until Feb. 11.
This is your chance to ask federal decision-makers to seriously examine whether energy efficiency, renewables, and energy storage could meet Ontario’s electricity needs faster, at lower cost, and with less risk than building another large nuclear plant.
Public input matters — this is an important opportunity to influence the review.
Submit your comment either through the IAAC portal, or email your comments directly to [email protected]. Deadline to submit: midnight Feb. 11.
Read our comments to the IAAC – feel free to grab any ideas that resonate with you to help craft your own comments.
Please ask the IAAC to direct OPG to look at the cleaner, safer and lower cost options (e.g., offshore wind, solar, storage) to building the world’s largest nuclear station.
Consider asking the IAAC to require OPG to fully evaluate whether:
All comments must be submitted by midnight on Wednesday, February 11.
Even a short message helps. The more people who speak up, the stronger the case for safer, lower-cost energy solutions.
