New York’s governor Kathy Hochul is very bad at math. She wants 5GW of new nuclear in the state, claiming it will keep electricity prices down when it will have precisely the opposite effect. She, and other equally eager pro-nuclear politicians, seem to be ignoring what happened in Georgia, where two new reactors are costing ratepayers some of the priciest electricity in the world, writes Joe Romm in a new analysis. READ MORE
