Stop the War coalition

While Palestine is still burning and the war in Ukraine, now in its fourth year, has seen terrible casualties on both sides and little movement, Trump’s aggressive meddling in Latin America and Iran has brought the world to the brink of another world war, one that would be significantly more disastrous, including with the very real prospect of the use of nuclear weapons.

Military budgets are rising at a pace not seen in decades and Trump sits at the centre of this escalation. Starmer is appeasing Trump by committing to higher and faster defence spending, not recognising that the normalisation of permanent military build-up carries consequences that extend far beyond defence policy.

All of this guarantees an inevitable march towards a nuclear apocalypse. As independent councillor from Preston Michael Lavalette says in our new video - We’ve been through various wars and periods where the world seemed to be on the point of terrible nuclear catastrophe and the time to join and be a part of Stop the War has never been greater.

Only a strong and united anti-war movement can challenge these reckless policies and push for real alternatives to stop endless wars. And this is where Stop the War comes in.

We have several major anti-war events coming up including our own conference on 14 March,  the Together Against the Far Right march on 28 March, dozens of StW public meetings around the country, the next National March for Palestine on 16 May and the International Peace Conference in London on 20 June. All of these events require massive amounts of collective effort, organisation and money.

By becoming a member, you’ll help us fund these events and organise more, lobby politicians, produce more anti-war materials and merchandise, ramp up our campaigns that challenge war and militarism, support Palestinian liberation, oppose the arms industry, and confront racism and imperialism wherever they appear.
