Abingdon Peace Group: IRAN demos tomorrow & Saturday

Dear Peace Group supporters,

Once again lives are being lost and societies in the Middle East disrupted in the name of “regime change”. And once again our UK government is complicit in another illegal bombing campaign/decapitation/war. On Saturday Keir Starmer announced we would not allow UK bases to be used by US war planes. On Sunday he changed his mind, and war planes started flying from USAF Fairford (only 22 miles from here!) and Diego Garcia.

There are several ways we can respond:

1. Join a vigil today (Tuesday 3 March) in Oxford from 5.30pm at Carfax: Peace and Anti War groups vigil/demonstration against the bombing of Iraq. Take placards if you can and spread the word. Organised by Oxford CND & others.

4. Write to your MP protesting the use of UK bases for illegal wars. Use some of the info in the attachment from Drone Wars, or from online statements eg: https://abolishwar.net/iran/ 

5. Spread the word!
