Trump considers sending special ops ground forces to seize Iran’s uranium
and prevent nuclear war. President Trump has considered sending special
operations ground troops into Iran to seize the country’s stockpile of
enriched uranium and prevent the launch of a nuclear weapon, it was
revealed. The White House has weighed the high-risk military option amid
increasing fears that the material may have been moved out of its storage
facilities and into the hands of a bad actor where it can no longer be
monitored.

The U.S. and Israel have discussed sending special forces into Iran to
secure its stockpile of highly enriched uranium at a later stage of the
war, according to four sources with knowledge of the discussions.

Iranian nuclear facility ‘severely damaged’ in US-Israeli attack. A
radiation sterilisation plant in Isfahan province, central Iran, has been
‘severely damaged’ in a US-Israeli attack. The gamma irradiation facility
in Isfahan province, central Iran, was struck in an air and missile attack
by Israel and the US on Saturday, Iranian state media reported. The centre
sustained “severe damage”, but no radiation contamination has been detected
in the surrounding environment so far, according to local reports.

What are the nuclear options now open to the US? America and Israel face a
complex challenge in locating and neutralising Iran’s enriched uranium
stockpile. resident Trump is considering sending troops to secure Iran’s
enriched uranium after reports of US-Israeli strikes on one of the main
sites that he said was obliterated last year. Missile attacks caused
“severe damage” to an irradiation sterilisation facility in Isfahan on
Saturday, Iran’s ISNA news agency reported. The Iranian regime has not
allowed any inspection at Isfahan, where most of the uranium was believed
to be stored, nor at Fordow and Natanz, the main places for enrichment. All
three were seriously damaged in June and satellite images show some work
compatible with securing them but no sign of any serious attempt to
reconstitute the programme. Most of the enrichment centrifuges are believed
destroyed, while the uranium stored in gas form in canisters is thought to
be buried deep under rubble. Iran is believed to have 440kg of uranium
enriched to 60 per cent, enough if increased to 90 per cent to build 11
nuclear warheads. Not even the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
knows the exact location of the entire stockpile, which it had previously
verified, or whether it is retrievable. Other sites may have uranium; the
Iranians were working on a back-up facility near Natanz deep underneath
Pickaxe Mountain, which was not targeted last year. Israel claims to have
evidence of secret sites it is now targeting.
