WRITE TO YOUR MP: No UK weapons or bases used for war on Iran

Posted: 12th March 2026

UK-made weapons were reportedly used in the recent deadly American Tomahawk missile attacks on Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ primary school in Minab, Iran. At least 180 were killed, most being school children as they attended their morning classes. Components of the Tomahawk missile are produced by Raytheon’s Glenrothes factory in Scotland. Take action now and email your MP to oppose the use of UK-produced weapons in the US-Israeli war on Iran.

No matter how much our government tries to frame British involvement in the US-Israeli war on Iran as “defensive”, people across the country are seeing through this messaging for what it is: a war-mongering cover for the UK’s alignment with American foreign policy. Over 50 000 people took to the streets of London over the weekend to say no to the US-Israeli war on Iran. Take action now and write to your MP to oppose all British involvement in this war.

F-35 Fighter Jets are playing a critical role in the US-Israeli war on Iran. The British arms industry plays a very significant role in the F-35 Fighter Jet Programme. Fifteen percent of every F-35 is produced in the UK. Out of all the countries involved in F-35 production outside of the US, the UK is by far the most important, being the only “level 1 partner”. Take action now to demand the UK withdraw from this programme of death and destruction.

F-35 fighter jet components are produced across the country. From Edinburgh all the way to Brighton – BAE Systems, Leonardo, L3 Harris, Rolls-Royce and Mission Systems Wimborne are all involved in this deadly production. Our government is further implicatedin the US-Israeli war on Iran through the use of British bases, jets, helicopters and the recent deployment of a warship.

Everyone who supports CAAT plays a vital role in CAAT’s campaigning. As always, thank you very much for your contributions to this. CAAT could not continue to campaign without all of you who share CAAT social media and blog posts, take part in demonstrations at private and public institutions which facilitate the arms trade, organise events with CAAT and lobby your MPs and councils. Your donations are indispensable as well.

Please support CAAT in our continuing work to STOP the arms trade by making a donation to keep CAAT campaigning.

While any donation is massively appreciated, the sustained impact from choosing to make a regular monthly donation by Direct Debit helps CAAT plan for future campaigning. You can click the button above to set up a Direct Debit, which can be stopped at any time.

Thank you for your continued support in resisting the deadly arms trade,

Zoe and everyone at Campaign Against Arms Trade
