The Britain Palestine Project is heading to Manchester Punk Festival!

We’re excited to share something a little different…

The Britain Palestine Project is heading to Manchester Punk Festival!

We’ll be performing a live podcast on the festival’s podcast stage at The Salutation on the afternoon of Friday 3rd April – and we’d love to see you there.
Live Britain Palestine Project Podcast: Britain Recognised Palestine. Now What?

Big announcement. Big headlines.
Britain recognises Palestine.
Politicians congratulate themselves.
Job done… right?

Not quite.

Join Dee Safieh (host of Britain Palestine Project podcast) and Dr Emma Luce Scali (international law expert, University of Manchester, UN consultant) for a live conversation on what recognition actually means – and what it doesn’t.

We’ll be digging into:

  • Is recognition just symbolic – or does it change anything real?
  • Can you recognise a state that isn’t allowed to function as one?
  • What’s the point of international law if no one enforces it?
  • How do economics – debt, aid, trade – quietly control sovereignty?
  • And most importantly: what happens next, and what can we actually do?
