And they’re off! CND’s advans – digital billboards – are currently touring East Anglia, helping to raise awareness of our ‘Kick Out Trump’s Nukes’ campaign! They spent yesterday parked up at key locations in Norwich, including outside the Town Hall and within the University of East Anglia. Today, they are out in Cambridge.
The visually impactful artwork and strong messaging displayed on these advans has been warmly received by members of the public, many of whom are learning for the first time about the US nukes now very likely sited at RAF Lakenheath. We are only able to pull off initiatives like this thanks to the generous donations of our members and supporters! Please, help us to keep this show on the road!
Over 60% of the British population oppose the deployment of US nuclear weapons in Britian. Far from keeping us safer, these deadly weapons would only put us on the frontline of any future conflict between the US and other nuclear powers. At a time when Donald Trump is making the world far more dangerous – letting critical nuclear arms control treaties expire like the START treaty and escalating his unprovoked illegal war on Iran – it is more important than ever that we build opposition to the deployment of these nuclear weapons and call for their removal.
These advans are helping to build support for an important protest and blockade at RAF Lakenheath this Saturday 4th April. As well as stationing US nuclear weapons, the base has been used to prepare for Trump’s illegal attacks on Iran. For information about this demonstration, which is being organised by Lakenheath Alliance for Peace, click here. There is still time to reserve your seat on coaches going to the protest as well as seeing the Advans up close. Book your transport here today.
In peace,
