“The acceptance by the United States and Iran of a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire for two weeks, to allow for negotiations, comes as welcome relief after President Trump’s most recent and most disgraceful threat of destroying an entire civilisation. It’s implication of nuclear war against Iran sent a shiver round the world.

 

The breakdown of this temporary ceasefire is, however, a real possibility.”

Lakenheath Peace Camp 2026: airbase action

Activists from across the world gathered at Lakenheath airbase last week for a Peace Camp to protest against the base’s role in UK and US foreign policy. The base is being used as part of the attacks on Iran, as well as there being strong evidence that US nuclear weapons are stationed there.

 

Hundreds of people brought their positivity and shared information of their own struggles and actions in their areas.” - read on for a round-up of the camp, which included inspiring action, arrestable offences, and a clear political alternative to Starmer’s support for war.
