Anti-war opposition has held back Keir Starmer’s desire to give full support to Trump’s wars. Public opinion is now firmly against British involvement in Iran, but we must keep up the pressure. That is why we are urging you to join Stop the War.

For all Starmer’s insistence that the UK would not be dragged into the war and he would not back Trump’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, RAF bases remain central to US war operations and tie Britain directly to its war machine. We demand Starmer stops enabling catastrophic wars and sends the US bombers home. Join the protest outside RAF Fairford on Sat 25th April to say: No War on Iran – US out of British Bases – Stop Trump’s Deadly Wars!

On Tuesday, the government shamefully passed a draconian measure in the Crime and Policing Bill which will effectively ban repeat protests. Along with the guilty verdicts against our vice chair Chris Nineham and PSC director Ben Jamal and the arrests of more than 500 people last weekend for protesting against the ban on Palestine Action, we are seeing a deliberate attempt to criminalise anti-war resistance and intimidate organisers at the very moment our movement is most needed.

Stop the War will continue to challenge the entire system of complicity that drags Britain into war without consent. But we cannot do this alone. If you believe that Israel must be stopped, the war in Iran must be stopped and there should be no US military bases in the UK, then join Stop the War and help build a movement strong enough to resist what is coming.
