Yesterday, 11 Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes on Gaza, while bombs also continued to rain down on Lebanon. As Israel continues to commit atrocities, we must continue to take to the streets to demand justice.

On Friday, we’re holding a protest to mark Palestinian Prisoners’ Day outside Downing Street in London. We’ll uplift the voices of Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, facing systematic torture and ill-treatment, and demand that the British government ends its complicity in Israel’s crimes.
On Saturday, we’re holding protests at Barclays branches across Britain to demand the bank stops enabling Israel’s genocide and apartheid. Join your local action.Friday 17 April: Palestinian Prisoners’ Day ProtestSaturday 18 April: Boycott Barclays Day of Action

Prisoners’ Day has been marked by Palestinians since 1974 to demand freedom for all Palestinians illegally detained in Israel’s prisons, and to honour family and friends that are incarcerated.
Arbitrary imprisonment is a central feature of Israel’s apartheid regime, used to repress the Palestinian struggle for freedom. Almost all Palestinians have been impacted by Israel’s carceral oppression, whether directly or through knowing loved ones in prison.
Systematic torture has long been a feature of Israel’s prisons. Over the last two years, this has accelerated, with human rights groups describing Israel’s prisons as torture camps. In her latest report, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese describes how the Israeli prison system is “a regime of organised humiliation, pain and degradation, sanctioned at the highest political levels.”
And now, the Israeli Knesset has passed a law imposing the death penalty by hanging exclusively for Palestinians. This law is a brutal example of Israeli apartheid.
Join us on Friday evening, outside Downing Street, as we demand that the British government imposes sanctions on Israel for its illegal imprisonment and torture of Palestinians.Friday 17 April: Palestinian Prisoners’ Day ProtestOn Saturday, we’re holding protests at Barclays branches across Britain, to demand that the bank ends its complicity in Israel’s crimes against Palestinians.
Barclays has an agreement with Israel to act as a ‘primary dealer’ for its government bonds. This means it helps Israel to raise money to fund the cost of its genocide in Gaza, and wider regime of military occupation and apartheid.
The bank also invests over £2 billion in, and provides loans and other financial services worth £6.1 billion to, arms companies supplying Israel with weapons and military technology used to commit atrocities in Palestine and Lebanon.
