Drones have hit the Chornobyl reactor dome, the Kursk reactor in Russia and close to the Zaporizhzhia reactors in Ukraine. Now a nuclear plant in the UAE - outside a war zone - has been targeted. We look at the danger armed drones and missile attacks on the battlefield present to nuclear power plants.

Drone danger

Drones in battlezones are a threat to nuclear power plants. There are 15 reactors in Ukraine in danger from the Russian invasion there. Armed drones have landed at the 6-reactor Zaporizhzhia site and blown a whole in the protective dome over the destroyed Chornobyl reactor. A Ukrainian drone hit Russia’s Kursk reactor. Now one has struck the UAE’s Barakah nuclear power plant even though the UAE is not directly involved in the US-Israel war against Iran. And autonomous drones are coming. We need reactors out of war zones. The only way to ensure that is to abolish their use. READ MORE
