Two researchers have collected the oral histories of British atomic veterans whose stories diverge widely from official accounts of their experiences during the Cold War when more than 2,000 atomic tests were conducted around the world. Veterans have argued for decades that they were harmed by the atomic exposures during tests and cleanup - links that the UK government has denied in almost every case. But veterans say they can recognize the lies and coverups, given they were eye-witnesses to the tests and their consequences. READ MORE
