Demand Andy Burnham sanctions Israel and stops attacking our right to protest.

Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people is still ongoing. Israel is still targeting Palestinians daily and the death toll continues to rise.
And yet, instead of taking decisive action to end its support for Israel’s genocide, the British government has been trying to repress people in Britain protesting against it.

Share our petitionIf you’ve been on one of our national marches for Palestine, or participated in a local action at a grocery store stocking Israeli goods, at a Barclays bank or outside an arms factory, you’ll have experienced firsthand the energy and diversity of the solidarity movement, which brings together people from all walks of life demanding justice for the Palestinian people.
But the growth of the movement has also been hit with unprecedented attempts by the British government to limit our rights to protest and campaign, using some of the most authoritarian measures this country has seen in decades.
Keir Starmer oversaw much of this authoritarian turn, but so far Andy Burnham hasn’t taken any steps to reverse course. We need to take our demands straight to him.
Share our petition to tell Andy Burnham: sanction Israel and reverse the authoritarian use of public order and anti-terror legislation to suppress protest in support of Palestinian rights.
Share our petitionThe government received widespread criticism for its outrageous decision to proscribe the direct action group Palestine Action, a decision which is now being challenged in the Supreme Court.
Last spring, the government also passed new legislation to give police powers to effectively ban repeat protests. This was a direct attempt to clamp down on our organising.
The new Prime Minister has the power to reverse this draconian expansion of state powers, and the anti-protest laws it builds on, but we need to show him that it’s a priority for tens of thousands of people across the country.

Our movement will never be silenced as we continue to target the pillars of British complicity that sustain Israel’s ongoing genocide, illegal occupation, and system of apartheid.
In solidarity,
Celie,
